Really fun but hard to find remake of Akira Kurosawa's SEVEN SAMURAI.  Up until now the Laserdisc rip was the best version with English subs.  Thank you Mei Ah and WellGo USA for giving this a nice remastering.  Picture is not up to most blu ray standards - I'm sure the source material they had to work with was not the best.  Picture retains a graininess and minor defects, but overall it is still a definite remaster and personally I love that some of the film "grit" remains.

Them movie itself is a blast, though this is not a major martial arts piece - only a smattering of stunts and fighting, but the story is pulpy and fast-paced.  Sammo Hung has a cameo in the beginning, and WellGo's packaging claims that this was "directed by Sammo Hung", and on their website it claims he co-directs it with Terry Tong, though all official crediting only given Terry Tong the director's chair for this one.  Not sure what to make of that.
