　　该FOX新剧是由《最后一个男人Last Man On Earth》的执行制片Phil Lord 和Christopher Miller打造，《克里夫兰秀》，《恶搞之家》编剧Julius Sharpe执笔，此外三人也是该剧的执行制片。该剧讲述的是三个好朋友试图穿越时空冒险 幷平衡日常生活的故事。一群生活在2016年的人，当他们将现代流行文化带到历史重要时刻，产生了一系列搞笑且灾难性的后果。

　　Adam Pally扮演Dan，在一所三流大学当教授的电脑宅。在他的精英名门家庭中，被视为失败者。而且他在学生和同事中也不怎么受欢迎，因为他高强的智力表现出的各种怪异。Dan发明了时间旅行机器，希望能有一个新的开始，结识不那么低端的人们。我们会看到两个Dan，一个是现代生活艰难的宅，一个则是回到过去广受欢迎的人。

　　Leighton Meester扮演Deborah，殖民地时期一个靠自学成才、奋发向上、思想前卫的女性，表现得根本不像那个时代的人。她那套男女平等、种族平等的理论在1775年遭到了无情的嘲笑。

　　Yassir Lester扮演 Chris，三十岁的历史教授，Dan的同事，在学校广受师生欢迎。他有一套独立的教学方式让学生爱上历史。但是他回到过去后，则受到了完全不一样的待遇，毕竟你懂的。
